Jester King Brewery, a popular brewery in Dripping Springs, wanted TCEQ authorization to re-use their brewery wastewater to irrigate landscaping instead of having the water hauled off. With our commitment to sustainability, EJA successfully obtained a water reuse authorization from TCEQ. In addition, EJA helped Jester King Brewery expand their septic system to both the brewery and newly acquired restaurant. Jester King brewery serves up to 300 visitors a day.
City of Austin: In partnership with Thonhoff Consulting Engineers, EJA obtained approval for the Austin Water Utility from the City of Austin Development Services Division to rehabilitate aging water and wastewater pipelines on 38th Street, 40th Street, and Red River Street. The pipes were over 50 years old and this project ensured continuing service to a growing metropolitan city.
City of Pecos: EJA helped the City of Pecos with their Water Conservation Annual Report, compiling data from their Water Use Survey, Water Loss Audit, and Annual Conservation Reports. EJA coordinated with the Texas Water Development Board to ensure the completion of applicable documents. Without this report, they would have difficulty requesting funding for infrastructure projects.
City of Holland: Through our relationship with Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), EJA participated in the pilot Asset Management Plan for Small Systems (AMPSS). n 2021, the city council, mayor and water superintendent resigned from their positions. We prepared the AMPSS documentation and the city was able to quickly reset and stabilize utility operations. The AMPSS documentation will position the city to effectively apply for additional funding from the TWDB.
Small Water and Wastewater Systems : With our contract with the Texas Rural Water Association (TRWA), we have provided financial, managerial and technical support to more than 200 small water and wastewater systems. Our services include Capital Improvement Plans and Asset Management, emergency planning, staff and board training, operating reports and record keeping requirements; lead and copper rule requirements and lead service line inventories, development of plan operations manual, and addressing and preventing Maximum Contaminant Level violations.
City of Cotulla: In partnership with Seagull PME, EJA conducted an economic survey to help the City of Cotulla document their economically disadvantaged community status. This project will help the City of Cotulla qualify for grant funding available through the State Revolving Fund programs.
Texas Water Development Board: We support the Texas Water Development Board to rate and rank applications for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund loans and grants. This includes infrastructure improvements, planning, design, acquisition and construction for expansion, non-point source pollution prevention, and estuary management.
EJA wrote the technical documentation to guide water and wastewater systems through the State Revolving Fund application process.
Crider’s on the Frio: Crider’s, a campground on the Frio River, needed to expand their water system to support the addition of more cabins. We developed the water system expansion plans to obtain the required TCEQ approval in a timely manner.
Solaro Estate Winery: EJA, in partnership with Cantu engineering, developed and submitted the required plan review materials for new construction of their water system. We obtained approval from the TCEQ for the drinking water system serving the winery and food truck.
Cactus Highway 71: EJA, in partnership with Noriega Environmental and Engineering Services, has been retained by this 50+ acre commercial development to design the water system serving 30+ commercial and residential structures.
Trinity River Authority: In partnership with Weston Solutions engineering firm, EJA conducted a Risk and Resilience Assessment for the Authority’s southern region water plants. This ensured they would meet the requirements of the 2018 AWIA to evaluate the vulnerabilities, threats, and consequences from potential hazards to the water system
City of Pflugerville: EJA, in partnership with Tetra Tech, conducted a Risk and Resilience Assessment of the Pflugerville water system. This ensured the City would meet requirements of the American Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) of 2018.
Emergency Response Plan Training: EJA developed Emergency Response Plan training in anticipation of the AWIA 2018. This training introduced emergency response system principles for water systems and was delivered across Texas.
